Ewen Spencer's new zine 'Bring, Come, Punish'
By Andrew Edwards, 31 August 2017
Ewen Spencer is a British photographer who has been documenting UK subcultures for nearly two decades. Being a part of the mod subculture before he was a photographer, his regret at not shooting then led him to photograph the UK Garage scene. He did so by working for magazines The Face and Sleazenation, where his editorial work soon gathered attention. In 2005 his series Open Mic documenting the rise of the Grime scene and its most prominent figures, which was later made into an award-winning book of the same name and including text from Martin Parr.
For his latest book/zine Bring, Come, Punish Spencer travelled to Berlin, Stockholm, Tallinn and Rotterdam to document the new prominence of the Vogue scene in Europe, with its origins in New York city. We were lucky to work with Ewen spencer on the post production of these recent images.
