Rick Guest began photographing ballet dancers when he was commissioned to shoot Edward Watson, a principal of The Royal Ballet. This now ongoing project explores the beauty and power of ballet. 'What Lies Beneath' the second of his exhibitions at The Hospital Club gallery, was the first showing of these images. It opened to great acclaim, with this Rick also released a book of the same name.
Rick has opened three critically acclaimed solo exhibitions in 2013 & 2016 - 'Now is all there is', 'Language of the soul' and 'What lies beneath'. Sergei Polunin a recurring subject of interest in Guest's ongoing project on ballet dancers and in the ballet world. Has a new documentary out about his life called Dancer, which explores his rise as the Royal Ballet's youngest ever principal at 21, and then leaving at the peak of his success, 'Dancer' is an unprecedented look into the life of a complex young man who made ballet go viral.
Hempstead May is proud to have produced Rick's large format fine art prints, that now hang in galleries and personal collections globally, including the National Portrait Gallery in London.
